The Question

As I ask this question please keep in mind a few things:
1.) Jesus is King, Sovereign God!!
2.) Don't let this question sway you from your pursuit of God because it does have an answer.

Is a person condemned to hell for their essence for who they are at the core of their being(dead in sin rebels against God) or for their unbelief in Jesus Christ as their savior and only way to heaven?

  1. I say it their unbelief in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The deb=nying of Jesus being the Christ, Christ meaning savior and messiah.

If ya want Josh, I can send you more of my thoughts about this...good question! This shows how we view God, man, sin and how God views these things as well! I am interested to see the other answers of people, and yours as well!

    God bless my brother!

  2. Well I don't believe in original sin or predestination in the Calvinistic sense, so I would argue that a person's sin condemns them along with their unbelief.

  3. Well, that is a good question. I believe that the Bible is pretty clear that sin is what condemns a man, that a man is sold into slavery to sin. Belief in Christ is the remedy for this condemnation, yet it is the sin that condemns. Similar to a child who contracts pneumonia. If the child gets to a Dr., then he can be cured, if not he dies. So, the Dr. is the remedy to the sickness, but it is the sickness that kills, not the lack of the Dr.

  4. a person is condemed to hell based on both. One who refuses to know Christ is in rebellion to God. A person who is in rebellion to God because of their core being is one who does not know Christ(please don't miss understand what I am saying here). Those who go to hell, go because they are sinners and in rebellion towards God who reject the only way to salvation. It is not an either or, unless you make an either or; I think if you were to choose one over the other you would be in err as to what Holy Scripture teaches. This is more of a trick question than anything else. Good question though. Scripture teaches both to be true and one in the same if you will. (once again please don't missunderstand anything I write.) -Angelo-
